It's just past 9 PM, and the sun only set about half an hour ago. It's still light out. It occurred to me earlier today that at this time of year when the days are so long, we are in sunlight from when we wake up in the morning virtually until we go to bed.

I find it comforting to think that for these few weeks, we're all awash in light...

The light simply migrates...

Don't forget, as the light around us dwindles and the days get longer and darker, light does not disappear, but migrates - into warmly lit living rooms, candle-lit tables surrounded by convivial friends, quiet corners with reading lamps, soft bedroom lighting or even the glow of a computer screen bearing friendly messages. Even in the darkest, coldest winter night, the light migrates to the stars and crowns the world with a frosty majesty. It never goes away, and it never really dies.
