Good grief, I just realized I hadn't posted in over a week! I think I'm in denial over posting since I'm still working on that Ottawa monster post. :P Right, so, general life updates:

I loved, loved, LOVED the fog last week. Particularly walking through Dufferin Grove Park, with the cool mist on my face and that glorious smell of damp earth, and the trees fading into white in the distance. *happy sigh* Not that the sunny weather this weekend wasn't lovely too, but honestly? I'm finding the neverending warmth a little creepy. It's almost November. It's just wrong that I can still wear shorts.

Last weekend ended up being crazy productive, which was incredibly satisfying. Many thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] torontoteacher who came over last Saturday evening and helped me wrestle my mess under control. Didn't get much (annything, really) done on the computer over the weekend, but boy is my physical place much less stressful to live in! I can see parts of my bedroom floor I hadn't seen in months, I did five loads of laundry, the bathroom and kitchen are sparkling, the plants are pruned and sprayed and ready for winter, I have two boxes of stuff for Goodwill, my summer clothes are put away, and the warring civilizations growing out of food in my fridge will have to make their peace in the Armageddon that is the Great Organics Bin.

THIS weekend, in start contrast, was delightfully sybaritic. Guys, I was in a lovely, massive, comfy bed until six PEE EM on Saturday! Soooo awesome. I can't remember the last time I did that. I am still grinning. Saw a very cool concert involving a pipe organ being played in ways I'm sure its creators ever intended, but for which I will buy the CD in a second when it comes out. Then I basically spent all Sunday sleeping. Except, of course, for Toronto's annual Zombie Walk. \o/

A bit more about yesterday's Zombie Walk.

So TwistedHip had this great idea of an anti-zombie protest, and [livejournal.com profile] audreyovisual came up with some fabulous slogans. My personal favourites:
"You ooze, you lose."
"We like our brains where they are."
"Go back to the grave you came from!"
"Not dead against the undead."
And a "no shambling" sign. Hee!
Sadly, we weren't able to get our act together this year. But next year we are so there.

The zombies had some pretty awesome slogans too. Best sign ever: "Zombies are were people too." Yes, complete with the strikeout! I'm just sorry my photo of the sign didn't come out. :(

May I just say how incredibly endearing I find it that Toronto zombies wait so politely at the traffic lights? *pets our well-behaved zombies fondly*

Zombie!wranglers. These poor people were trying to corral our undead masses. "Alright! All zombies! Please keep OFF THE ROAD!" The zombies meant well, I'm sure, but with so much zombie fun, who can keep track of such pesky things as street traffic? You need BRAAAINS for that shit. Fortunately, no zombies were actually killed made (or maimed) in the making of this walk.
