I'M AN AUNT, GUYS!!!!! \o/ \o/ \o/
Apr. 21st, 2008 10:22 pmI HAVE NO ICON TO PROPERLY EXPRESS MY EXCITEMENT, SO RAOUL ("THE BIG GAY SUPERNATURAL DRAGON") WILL JUST HAVE TO DO.
I just got the call from my mom! My "kid" (31-year-old, heh) brother is a DAD!!! The new mom and dad and baby boy are apparently doing well, though utterly exhausted after several days (!!!) of labour. I am so thrilled for them! I'm ITCHING to call them but I agree with mom that they probably need sleep more than they need squealing sister on the phone. *g* I'm hoping to visit this weekend, since the baby arrived pretty much on time (I'd originally planned on the following weekend), but obviously it will depend on what works for the new family. Dammit, I don't often wish I drove, but now is definitely one of those times!
For those who don't know, I've always wanted to be an aunt the way other people I've known have always wanted to be parents. I've tried hard over the years not to lay any pressure on my bro, since that would be obnoxious, but now that it's happened I'm just thrilled to bits. They're going to be such awesome parents, and YAY to a new member of the family! Welcome, little one!
*bounces off the walls*
ETA: I have managed to exhaust myself with my own excitement in fairly short order. *grin, facepalm* I cannot even begin to imagine hours or DAYS of, y'know, actual labour. I AM IN AWE. Aaand also in need of bed... *toddles off*
